God who is love and who created man and woman for love has called them to love. By creating man and woman he called them to an intimate communion of life and of love in marriage: “So that they are no longer two, but one flesh” (Matthew 19:6). God said to them in blessing “Be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28).  (Compendium, 337)

Preparing For Marriage:
  • As a man and woman approach the Sacrament of Matrimony, a sacred institution, they should consult with the parish priest to begin with Marriage Preparation Classes.
  • The Marriage Preparation Classes start nine months before the scheduled date of the Wedding Ceremony, so it is important to both reserve the church for that day, as well as schedule meetings with the pastor to better discuss and prepare for the special day.
  • It is advised that marriage preparations be made beginning with a visit to the Pastoral Office.
  • If you are currently off-island or from another parish and wish to have your wedding ceremony at Our Lady of Peace & Safe Journey, please ask your pastor for a permission to do so, provided that marriage preparation is commenced at your current location.
  • The Social Hall may also be used for Fandangos/ wedding receptions.
