CCD / Faith Formation Program
In order that “the Church may be built up,”[1] the parish community prepares the members of the Church for the various stages of sacramental life through the Faith Formation Program (formerly CCD.) The Seven Sacraments are moments in which God bestows untold graces to his peoples; in order to prepare the recipients of the sacraments more fully, classes have been established to edify students in the knowledge of the faith as well as to mold an appreciation for the things of God. Children, youth, and adults are prepared to receive the sacraments of First Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA, is present for those who want to become members of the Catholic faith but have not previously been baptized; this process of Christian reception is more suited for informing adults on their journey to become members of the Church.
