Fr. Edivaldo, originally from Brazil, was born in the country’s capital of Brasilia; he comes from a family of 4 siblings. At the age of 18 he was Baptized into the Catholic Church. Two year later he entered the Redemptoris Mater Seminary of Brasilia, after 3 years he was sent to Washington DC and in 2004 he came to our island as a seminarian. In 2009 he was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Agana. Fr. Edivaldo was first appointed to the parish of San Vicente-San Roke in Barrigada, and in 2010 Fr. Edivaldo went to further his studies at the Lateran Pontifical University in Rome. While there, he graduated with a Theological License in Moral Theology with a specialization in Family Studies from the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family. This year he was assigned as Pastor of Our Lady of Peace & Safe Journey Catholic Church in Chalan Pago; he is also a Professor of Theology at the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Yoña.
